Winner of 2019 IAN Award for best Action/Adventure Novel. Gary grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and served three years as a United States Marine Corps Officer.

Gary attended Sacramento State University after his time in the Marines, earning a Master's degree in Criminal Justice. He then served 7 years as a Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Special Agent/Supervisor during which he was involved in narcotic investigations, protection details, and foreign espionage operations…

Gary then transferred to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a Special Agent and retired after 18 years. His assignments included being a case agent, undercover agent/operations, supervisor and Resident Agent-in-Charge, involved in worldwide investigations. Throughout his careers in NCIS and DEA he was a tactical, self-defense and firearms instructor. Gary also holds a 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido.

After retirement he served an additional 15 years as U.S. government contractor/special investigator, continuing his government service and mentors young adults in public safety, government, and military service.

He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and when not writing is an avid cyclist. Gary is currently working on books 5-7 as the series continues.
